What is the NRC rating of a diffuser?
A diffuser does not have an NRC rating. NRC measures sound absorption, and a diffuser is built to scatter sound, not absorb it. The two work together: absorption panels (NRC up to 1.0) remove echo and reverb, while a quadratic diffuser spreads the remaining reflections evenly so the room still sounds natural and spacious rather than dead. Where should I place a quadratic diffuser?
