What is the difference between 1" and 2" acoustic panels?

Do acoustic panels soundproof a room?
Acoustic panels improve sound quality INSIDE a room by absorbing echo and reverb. They do not block sound from entering or leaving a room (that requires soundproofing materials like mass-loaded vinyl). If you hear excessive echo, reverb, or poor speech clarity, acoustic panels are the solution.
How do I install acoustic sound panels?
Every panel includes our Z-clip mounting system (similar to a French cleat). Screw one half to the wall, the other is pre-attached to the panel. Hang in under 5 minutes per panel. No special tools needed beyond a drill and level. Works on drywall, concrete, and wood surfaces.

NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) measures how much sound a material absorbs on a scale of 0 to 1. Our 1" panels rate NRC .75 (absorb 75% of sound). Higher is better. Bare drywall is NRC .05. Our 2" panels achieve NRC 1.0 (perfect absorption).
