How to choose within this collection

• 2-inch panels (NRC 1.0): the default recommendation for most rooms. Absorbs the most sound of any standard thickness we sell. Shop 2-inch panels.
• 1-inch panels (NRC 0.80): a lower-cost option for speech clarity and general office noise. Shop 1-inch panels.
• Bass traps: broadband, low-frequency absorption, no single NRC number. Needed for boomy or muddy bass that standard panels cannot reach. Shop bass traps.
• Large-format panels: up to 4x8 feet, for big commercial walls where fewer, larger panels mean a faster install. Shop large panels.
• Custom art panels: your photo or logo printed on an acoustically transparent face, NRC 1.0 on the 2-inch substrate. Shop art panels.
• PET felt: NRC 0.88, recycled material, works on walls or ceilings. Shop felt and ceiling tiles.
• Homasote DesignWall 440: a fabric-wrapped sound barrier board, not an absorber. Its job is blocking sound between rooms, tested to STC 51 to 53 depending on wall assembly. Its own NRC is 0.20, so it will not fix room echo. Pair it with panels when a project needs both isolation and absorption.

Panels versus Homasote: pick the right tool

These solve opposite problems. A 2-inch panel absorbs sound energy inside the room to reduce echo and reverb. Homasote DesignWall 440 adds mass to a wall to block sound from passing through to the next room. A room that sounds harsh needs panels. A wall that lets sound bleed through needs Homasote or a construction-level fix. Many projects use both, for different rooms or different problems in the same room.

What should I buy if I am not sure?

2-inch panels (NRC 1.0). It is the right default for the widest range of rooms.

What is Homasote and how is it different from a panel?

Homasote DesignWall 440 blocks sound between rooms (STC rated). Panels absorb sound inside a room (NRC rated). Different job, different product.

Do these panels contain foam?

No. High-density fiberglass core, fabric-wrapped, never foam.

How do I handle bass problems?

Add bass traps. Standard panels are built for mid and high frequencies, not deep bass.
